EXHIBITION “ARTIFACTS OF KOSOVO TAKEN BY SERBIA” OPENS IN DRAGASH WITH A CALL FOR THEIR RETURN

The exhibition “Artifacts of Kosovo Taken by Serbia” has opened in Dragash, showcasing photographs of dozens of artifacts that are still held in Serbia.

Alongside the exhibition, postcards featuring images of the artifacts and messages emphasizing the need for their return to their place of origin have been distributed.

This event has not only allowed the public to closely view a portion of Kosovo’s valuable cultural heritage, which continues to be held in Serbia, but has also served as another call to highlight the importance of returning these artifacts to Kosovo.

The exhibition was also visited by representatives of the Municipality and other activists.

For more than two decades, Serbia has taken and controlled a wide range of Kosovo’s artifacts. During this period, it has been documented that over 1,247 artifacts were transported to Belgrade for an exhibition and have not been returned to their original location.

EC Ma Ndryshe considers that Kosovo’s institutions should continue efforts to bring them back, in a process that requires mutual commitment and ongoing support from the international community.

The return of these artifacts would represent an important step toward cultural justice, the preservation of cultural heritage, and their proper presentation in their country of origin.

The exhibition will remain open in the coming weeks in other cities across Kosovo as well.
