“One Wish For My Street” is also carried out with the residents of the Dardania neighbourhood in Prizren

As part of the “One Wish For My Street” initiative, EC Ma Ndryshe continued its participatory activities with residents of the Dardani neighborhood in Prizren, engaging in discussions with citizens from “Xhemajl Mustafa”, “Bekim Berisha Abeja”, “Rruste Kabashi”, “Driton Ferati”, “Muhamet Cami”, “Xheladin Gashi”, “Maliq Torbani” streets and surrounding areas. The purpose of this activity was to collect residents’ requests, concerns and needs related to public spaces and the quality of life in their neighborhood.
During the activity, a map of the neighborhood was placed in public spaces, serving as an interactive tool for identifying community problems, proposals and requests. The activity was carried out through direct meetings with citizens of different age groups, who shared their experiences and concerns regarding infrastructure and public services.
Among the issues raised by residents were problems with road and pedestrian infrastructure, including the occupation of sidewalks by vehicles, damaged roads, and the need for a pedestrian overpass or underpass on the main road. Residents also called for improvements to public lighting and the naming of streets in areas where street names are missing.
During the discussions, problems related to the sewage system and water supply were also addressed, as well as the need to review the urban plan in cases of discrepancies between parcels. Residents also called for improvements to the park by installing waste bins, benches and children’s play areas.
Other issues addressed included the presence of stray dogs, for which institutional engagement was requested. Residents also raised concerns about the condition and misuse of the former school building, calling for security measures and consideration of the possibility of restoring the educational process in this facility.
All comments, proposals and requests collected during this activity will be forwarded to the relevant institutions, with the aim of having them reviewed and concrete measures taken to improve public spaces, infrastructure and the quality of life for residents of the Dardani neighborhood.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the “Public Spaces 4 All” project, implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
