“Public Spaces Diaries” Activity Held with the Community of Persons with Disabilities in Prizren

As part of the “Public Spaces 4 ALL” project, the “Public Spaces Diaries” activity was carried out with the community of Persons with Disabilities. The activity took place at Handikos in Prizren, where first-hand experiences and perceptions of persons with disabilities regarding the use and quality of public spaces in the city were collected.

The meeting opened with a presentation on the project and the “Public Spaces Diaries” methodology, a participatory approach focused on gathering data on the everyday experiences of different community groups in public spaces, including usage patterns and practical observations on their functionality.

The activity was conducted through a facilitated session, during which participants were provided with individual diaries to document their experiences and reflections. The questionnaires covered topics related to the frequency of use of public spaces, challenges encountered, as well as the impact of weather conditions on their overall experience.

The findings from this activity will serve as a basis for developing concrete recommendations aimed at improving public spaces in Prizren, making them more inclusive and accessible for all citizens.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the “Public Spaces 4 All” project, implemented by EC Ma Ndryshe with the support of the German Government and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), through GIZ Kosovo.
